Weekly Devotional 11-3-14 What a Blessed Time

Weekly Devotional 11-3-14 A Blessed Time

A few weeks ago Nancy and I visited the Creation Museum in Petersburg, KY. What a blessing. Ken Ham, in the face of much opposition, has created a place where the Christian can go for refreshing, and the non-Christian can learn the Biblical view of creation and man’s origin. Christians leave with reassurance that God, in fact, created all there is, and that He did so in six days. Non-Christians are given a different view of creation and of man’s purpose than that which they receive from humanistic thought (from Darwinism and speculative science). Mr. Ham and those of the museum hold that the Book of Genesis is foundational to the correct understanding of creation and of life. They hold firm to the Bible’s claim that “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth,” and that the heaven and earth did not evolve from “The Big Bang” or from nothing to something; whatever that something might have been.

Mr. Ham and the Museum claim that God created the earth and fashioned it to sustain life; that He created all of its creatures, including man in God’s image. Genesis, they claim, explains the origin of sin, man’s separation from God because of it, and the promise of redemption, a redemption that would be provided by God Himself. Genesis tells of the world wide flood that changed the topography of the earth and the separation of man into groups, each from the others. Genesis gives the origin of different languages and declares that even though all persons are decedents of Adam and Eve, they became different in appearance. Mr. Ham and those of the museum hold that there is only one race of man but that differences came about in that race. Mutations occurred in the genetic makeup of the various groups because of various combinations present in the genes of these groups.

Mr. Ham stated the attacks of the atheist (Darwinian Humanist) are relentless. He challenged us, the Christians of the group, to be always ready to give a defense of our faith. He said this means that we are to prepare ourselves by knowing God’s Word.

Again, I write what a blessed time Nancy and I had. We would encourage everyone who is able to visit the Creation Museum which is located at 2800 Bullittsburg Church Rd., Petersburg, Ky., or visit them at CreationMuseum.org. Their Telephone # is 1-888-582-4253
