The Marriage Between God’s Will and Our Will
Is it possible for there to be a marriage between God’s will and man’s will? An important question for sure and the answer is no and yes. The natural man’s will is always governed by self, by his understanding of things and by the desires of his unregenerate nature, for him the answer is no. The spiritually regenerated man however is influenced by the Spirit of God (by the Holy Spirit). And, God’s will is knowable and provable. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.” This passage gives us an important sequence: the child of God refuses to be conformed to the world and instead allows himself to be transformed by the Spirit.”
As our mind is renewed according to the things of God, then we can know and be led by God’s perfect will. There is a wonderful freedom in this because God’s will and our will becomes one will, a perfect marriage.
