Weekly Devotional 4-4-22 Five Evidence’s of God’s Reality

Weekly Devotional 4-4-22

Evidence of the Reality of God

All persons with the ability to reason have a sense of God. That is, they have the conviction that there is an entity to whom they owe their being. Many of course will argue against this truth, but it is an argument they cannot defend. Ask the denier to prove there is no God and he cannot. The Bible declares that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1) and goes on to say that He created all forms of life. Let the denier offer a more plausible explanation for the things that are, and he cannot. The deniers of old once held there was a sudden expansion of energy (the big bang theory) but could not explain the origin of the energy. Genesis 1:1 does.

Now in kindness I would offer, if the denier cannot prove there is no God it would be wise for him to consider the reality of God. He has not left Himself without testimony for He testifies of His being to man in at least five ways. First, there is the innate. God has given to every person born enough spiritual light to know of His being (John 1:6-9). Second, He has given man the deduction of reason. Reason is a conclusion arrived at by a process of generalization (Romans 1:19-20). Third, He has given man supernatural revelation (John 16:7-11). Fourth, there is the testimony of Israel’s continued existence. What other nation exists today that was divided by civil war; lost its land to a foreign entity (Babylon); and was subject to several succeeding Gentile world powers (The Medo-Persian Empire, the empire of Greece, and the Roman Empire) for approximately eight hundred years (605 BC – 300 AD). Even though they escaped servitude to the later of these empires they were prevented from living as a sovereign nation until 1948. They were given statehood in that year but has had to defend their statehood against many nations from that time until now. They have sought to annihilate Israel, but Israel lives on.

Finally, God has given testimony of His reality through the church. Jesus, (God in Human flesh) said that He would build His church and that not even the gates of Hell would prevail against it. It was birthed by His Spirit approximately two thousand years ago (Acts 2) and still exist today. Satan and unregenerate man attempted to destroy Jesus by murdering Him, but He rose from the dead and now dwells in the midst of the church by His Spirit. Since the church began, Satan and unregenerate men have tried to destroy it, but they have failed and will continue to fail until such time that the Lord takes it to be safely with Him forever.

The preponderance of the evidence is more than enough to convince even the strongest skeptic and if they would consider said evidence, they would not be disappointed!

He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him” (John 3:18).
