Are You Sure of Heaven
Many hope that when they pass from this life they will be taken to heaven. Some of the many believe that because they have lived a fairly descent life they will be accepted. Others trust in the many supposed good works that they may have done. Still, there are others who believe that because they have been faithful to their church they will be accepted int heaven. Jesus said however (John 3:3; 3:5) that unless a person is born again he (or she) will not see or enter into heaven. Jesus told Nicodemus and us that a person who is born again is so born because of the work of the Holy Spirit. Being born again is in actuality being born from above. God grants new life to those the Holy Spirit regenerates.
If salvation therefore is by the activity (work) of the Holy Spirit and not of personal work or goodness, of whaterever kind, what evidence is there that one has been born again? The evidence is in a changed life. When one begins to live a life that truly desires to satisfy God’s holiness forsaking self to that end, he or she may rest assured that God the Holy Spirit has brought about a change in his or her life. The qualifing word is truly. If there has been a change, there will be a change.
Thankyou Father, Son and Holy Spirit for working in our lives a work that we could not have done by ourselves or that we even had a desire to do.
